Well, it's that time of the year again... sunburn, bloated waistlines, liver failure*.... ahhh, good times.
2010 has been a HUGE year! I've done a heap of fun illustrations, participated in three exhibitions, travelled to New York, eaten a human**, met my cartooning idols, visited the MAD magazine office in NYC, was nominated for a 'Reuben', shortlisted for a 'Create', and won a 'Stanley'! I've also been lucky enough to work for some great magazines, including People, Spectator and MAD - the latter a lifelong dream fulfilled.
At home, Ash and I have watched our kids blossom. It wasn't too hard with regular watering and quality manure. Miles is five, and doesn't stop moving until he falls asleep. Even then, he usually juggles a little. April is a year-and-a-half, and has just learned how to butter us up by doing this cute thing with her shoulders. Either that, or she has some sort of tic. Who's to know?
I wish you all a safe and happy Christmas, Chanukah, or Generic Non-Descript Religious Festival. I hope that 2011 treats you nicely!
Clients: I'll be closing up shop for the year on Friday 17th December 2010, and opening up the studio again after New Year. I will be available for limited work in between Christmas and New Year, so feel free to get in touch.
* I used a similar joke last year and a) Yes, I've run out of material; and b) For those that emailed concern - no, I don't really have liver failure - it's just my hopeless attempt at humour.
** Another joke. Put down the phone.
