This week’s Spectator cover coincides with the season finale of Channel 10′s massive-rating cooking show Masterchef.

I used a different illustration technique on this one, doing a digital painting instead of my usual linework with colour underneath.  This is only my second digital painting, and once I got into the groove with it I had a lot of fun.  I tried to get an authentic, traditional look by painting it as I would a regular painting – just using small round brushes on one layer, and working it up.
