Britain, Redacted or You Can't Say That!

Double Spectator week!  Here's the UK cover on Rod Liddle's truths that dare not speak their name...

The initial brief I was given was "Britain, Redacted", which is what the concepts are based on.  Below are the thumbnail roughs and the sketch.  I thought this one would look good with a painterly look so I bypassed the inking stage and just digitally 'painted' over the top of the sketch.  Please click for a closer look...

And the final art, below. They cut the speech bubble on the published cover, but I think it works nicely without it...

I supplied the team four colourways for the background.  I didn't realise I had those arms so perfectly aligned.  They look pretty cool all linked up!
