A Bit of the Process...

A little bit of video for you. Here's me doing some quick, initial sketching. No music, cruddy quality, but hey... as the kids say, whatev's.

And three of me sketching it up a little tighter. I usually take a few passes at the sketches until I get it right.

The final sketch and inks:

And here's the design on a few different colours, including t-shirt fabric to make sure all the colours sing:

Thanks for looking, and remember to head on down to the Colourful Language page to grab some gear.

Giles' Phatsville Tattoo

Back in 2009 I drew a custom tattoo for my mate and fellow comic artist Giles Kilham. (In fact, it was one of the first entries when I entered the world of blogging.) Keen readers will note that I promised to post pics of the actual tattoo. Only two years late, I present the process: sketch, inks and final art, to tattoo outlines, colouring, and the finished design. Please click for a closer look...

Phatsville Comix are celebrating their 10th Anniversary with their 17th issue! Have a wander over to Phatsville Comix's Facebook Page and grab your copy. I also have an illo or three in there, too, but don't let that put you off!

Thanks for stopping by. ~ Anton

The Phatsville Reader

Here's a fun illo for the inside cover of Phatsville #17...

Brush and ink on paper, digital tone

Created in 2002 by Giles Kilham, Ben C., Glenn Manders, Tom Scarlett and John Stewart, Phatsville has had a hefty parade of talented Aussie comic artists march through it over the years. It's funny as hell. And in poor taste. I guess that's why I like it.

Anyway, it's on sale now... go to your local comic store or get in touch with the guys through the Phatsville FB page to grab your copy. Look out for the amazing wraparound cover by Ben Sea!

Thanks for stopping by! Have a great weekend.
