RIP Jack Davis

The world has lost one of the greatest cartoonists today.  Jack Davis' fun, energetic illustrations adorned the pages of so many comic books and magazines, but most famously MAD.  He drew covers for TIME, artwork for LP's, and posters for heaps of movies in the 60's and 70's.

I won't try to do a full biography - I'll leave that to others.  But I will say that Davis' goofy style influenced me a lot over the years, and it still inspires me to look at his art.
